The Cegléd heating network has provided heating services to 1600 homes since January 1, 2000, by using co-generation technology (connected energy production). The gas engine with 836 kW electrical output and 40,000 cm³ cylinder capacity, followed by a second one with 2179 kW electrical output at the end of 2004 satisfy not only the demand of the network, but it also produces electricity, which is sold by Dalkia Energia to the local electricity company DÉMÁSZ. In addition to the upgrading of the boiler room of the Cegléd system, 24 heat centers have been installed, making it possible to apply consumption-based billing. Owing to the HUF 700 million investment, the judgment of the district heating system of Cegléd has improved considerably from the point of view of heating costs.
