Kőbánya Power Plant
Dalkia Energia Zrt (75%) and Budapesti Erőmű Zrt (25%) set up a new company, KŐBÁNYAHŐ Kft, and built a new combined heat and electricity production power plant at the Kőbánya premises of BE Rt with an investment of over 3 billion forints. The new cogeneration plant was put into operation in early 2005.
The sphere of activity of the power plant includes the supply of 6 industrial consumers including Richter Gedeon Rt with steam, and the sale of electricity produced in combination with heat.
The power plant with 57.6 MW heat capacity and 15.6 MW electrical capacity enables the production of about 328 GWh power. Main equipment of the investment:
- 3 gas turbines 3 × 5.2 MWe
- 3 heat recovery boilers 3 × 8.9 MWth
- 3 gas boilers 3 × 10.3 MWth
Due to the state-of-the-art technology applied, the new power plant emits 31,500 tons less CO2 a year, and fully conforms to the relevant stringent environmental requirements.
