Érd
With the Érd heating network, Dalkia Energia has provided heating and hot water to 1050 homes and 11 businesses since August 2001 in the frame of a 20-year contract. The new concession service provider Érdhő Kft., established by Dalkia Energia and the Budapest Power Plant, undertook the reconstruction of the boiler room, setting up 41 new, compact heat centers, a remote management system, as well as replacing the pipe network, on both the primary and the secondary side.
The total value of the investments completed in 2002 reached HUF 196 million, more than half of which could be managed to be financed from state subsidies and favorable loans (Szécheny Plan, German coal aid). As a result of the upgrade, the operation of the system became safer, considerable energy savings could be achieved, and heating periods as well as temperatures can be regulated for each building in a flexible way, in accordance with the customers’ needs.
