Ownership Structure

Through its majority owner, the French Dalkia, Dalkia Energia Zrt. belongs to two large international company groups, namely Veolia Environnement (formerly Vivendi Environnement) and the French electricity company Electricité de France (EDF).

Veolia Environnement (VE), the largest environmental service provider in the world deals in four main spheres of services: water utilities (Veolia Víz), waste management (Veolia Környezetgazdálkodási Services), energy services (Dalkia) and transportation (Veolia Közlekedés). In the field of energy services, unlike the other three divisions, VE is not the sole owner, beside its share of 66% EDF owns the remaining 34%.

As a result of the agreement between VE and EDF signed in June 2000, Dalkia has become the largest energy service provider in Europe. The marriage with EDF not only increases the strength of capital and the capacity of investment, but also enables the broadening of Dalkia’s sphere of services, elaborating comprehensive offers and selling “smart” energy at competitive price.
